Our reigning Miss International UK Queen Alisha, has officially landed in India for the A-Sisterhood Humanitarian Visit. We are so excited to follow this trip over the next week as she gets to experience incredible culture, and visit some of the women’s charities that she has helped through her fundraising for A-Sisterhood. As a Miss International UK finalist, Alisha raised an incredible amount for A-Sisterhood – a non profit organisation that strives to help and support women’s charities worldwide.
During the first day of the trip, Alisha was able to visit the Sheroes Hangout. This is a sanctuary which was set up by women who have been victim to acid attacks in India. The beautiful & inspiring Sheroes welcomed our Queen with open arms, dancing and dinner! Alisha was able to meet the incredible women and see the space that they have created – this provides not only vital care, but also employment opportunities for the women. We are blown away by how amazing & inspiring these women are when faced with something so terrible, and saddened to read just how common this is.
We are so proud to be working alongside A-Sisterhood as part of the Miss International UK pageant. This opportunity isn’t only just for the winner of the Miss International UK 2024 pageant, but is also open to every single finalist, that pledges to raise the targeted amount for A-Sisterhood during their time as a finalist. Any Miss International UK finalist that raises £2750 or more for A-Sisterhood will also be attending this trip next year. An incredible, once in a lifetime opportunity.
