Merry Christmas from our World Supermodel UK, Brittany Hargreaves!
Our amazing World Supermodel UK, Brittany Hargreaves, would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
‘Wow, where do I begin. I can’t believe it’s this time of year already, I should start getting the Christmas tree out!
Winning the World Supermodel UK title in July this year has still not sunk in, I sometimes sit and stare at my crown and sash in amazement. When applying for the first ever UK Power Pageant I felt very excited but at the same time nervous with this being one of my first ‘Miss’ competitions. Before I applied for this pageant I went to watch the Galaxy final which took place in February and I couldn’t help but want to get up on the stage again.
When preparing for the UK Power Pageant I researched each title that the competition had to offer and I will be honest I struggled to choose between the 4. Before entering the competition I have always dreamt of competing internationally and each title whisked the queen away to compete internationally, so I was so grateful to even have had the opportunity to compete with all the beautiful girls who also got a place in the final.
Throughout my years of competing in pageants I have made so many close friends that I know will stick with me forever. It’s so lovely to see girls who have made friends through the pageant system supporting one another when they are competing in the same pageant, as we all know how hard it can be girls. I would like to say a quick thank you to my beautiful friends Rachael Tate and Gemma Palmer for supporting me at the final!
One thing that we all love to do before a pageant is dress shopping!!! Thank you to The Dress Studio I found my perfect dress and felt like a queen before even stepping onto the stage. Finding my swimwear for the competition was probably the hardest but thank you to my mum for finding me the amazing white swimwear and the shoulder necklace that I actually then went on to win the Bikini Body award. As my mum always says ‘mum’s know best’.
I enjoyed all of the appearances I attended before the final of the competition and felt grateful to be given the opportunity to help others out in charity events and sponsored walks. I also took part in two 10K runs across Manchester to raise money for Cancer Research and the Christie Charity. I have now entered to run the Manchester Winter 10K run which will be held in February next year and will be raising money for Cancer Research.
In October I took part in judging the Miss Teen Great Britain competition and to see the standard of girls in the final was absolutely incredible. Well done to all of you who competed! I was also lucky enough to judge the final of the World Teen Supermodel UK competition, where me and the other judges picked out the most beautiful sister queen who will be travelling to Macau with me next year in May. For those who haven’t yet met Molly-Mae Hague she is absolutely gorgeous inside and out! I am looking forward to experiencing Macau and making memories that will last forever!
I’m struggling to find words to sum up the couple of months that I have had already. Since winning the title of World Supermodel UK I have been asked to model for many different brands and photographers. I recently took part in the L’Oreal ID show and modeled for one of the hairdressers in the team. I was then asked to model for Spectrum One Hair Extensions at their launch party, it was amazing! I have just recently booked in my first ASOS shoot and will be appearing on the Marketplace website soon. I am so excited for what is to come.
It is probably noticeable that the start of my year as World Supermodel UK has been one to remember and I do not want it to end! I am looking forward to all of the events I have already got lined up for the New Year not to forget the once in a lifetime experience in Macau at the international final in May. HOW EXCITING!!!
Just a quick message to say my thank you’s to the most important people who have made winning this incredible title possible. First of all my mum (Andrea), boyfriend (Drew) and best friend Jasmin for always supporting me, believing in me and being by my side every step of the way. To my friends and family for constantly sharing my Facebook posts, tweets and doing anything to help. Thank you and I love you all!! Thank you to the PageantGirl team for giving me this opportunity to be a role model for other girls and I hope I am doing you all proud.
I have learnt that believing in yourself has got to be one of the most important attitudes to have . To all the girls competing in pageants if you believe in yourself then anything can be achieved. Advice I have always been given is never give up, this has got mew to where I am today!!
Finally I would like to wish you all a very happy, healthy and festive Christmas time.
Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.
Thank you for reading about my year so far and please feel free to follow the rest of my journey via my Facebook page.
Lots of love,
Brittany Hargreaves – World Supermodel UK 2016/17
