Merry Christmas from Miss Intercontinental England, Sarah Davies!
Miss Intercontinental England, Sarah Davies, would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
Wow, I can’t believe I’ve already passed the 6-month mark of my reign. As 2018 draws to and end I’ve taken a lot of time to reflect on the year. 2018 has been a truly amazing for me and one that I know I will never be able to forget, a Commonwealth Games medal and the title of Miss Intercontinental England. Many people have asked me over the last 6 months which achievement I am most proud of, but I honestly could not choose. They are both such amazing achievements that I have worked for so many years towards.
As you are all getting cosy and relaxing over the festive period, I will be in full panic mode preparing to head off to the Philippines on 7th January for the Miss Intercontinental finals. I am so excited, I know it’s going to be the opportunity of a lifetime. I have never visited the Philippines before, so I am super excited for that and it’s like the capital of all things pageantry!!! I am no stranger to being away for long periods of time as I travel all over the world with my weightlifting competitions, but I get to be in my comfy training kit, trainers, my hair on top of my head and minimal make up. 3 weeks at Miss intercontinental is going to be so very different, I’m scared for my feet and skin already!
If you’re thinking of entering one of the Pageant Girl pageants, then do it and if you’ve entered before and it wasn’t your time then enter again in 2019. I took me so many years to win the crown, but I know now it just really wasn’t my time. I have heard Holly say time and time again over the years that the crown will come when the time is right, and it is so true. Until this year I do not believe I was truly ready for this crown or even that the crown was ready for me. But entering pageants has made me really look deep inside and work out who I am and what I want from life. They have made me believe in myself and taught me to never give up on my dreams no matter how crazy they seem. Until this year I always doubted whether I would win or not because of how different my body is to the “typical” pageant body, but I guess I just show that that is a load of nonsense and that pageants really do celebrate all types of women and body shapes and promote women as amazing role models to others.
So as I sign off I want to wish you all a HUGE Merry Christmas and Happy New Year full of fun, laughter and amazing memories. And never be too scared to chase your dreams, if your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.
